We the undesigned people of Finima, in
futherance of our pursuit of peace in Finima
land, on behalf of the entire Finima Community
comprising BUOYE OMUSO (BROWN) MAJOR HOUSE, THE
ATTONI HOUSE AND THE TOBIN HOUSE have agreed to
the terms hereinafter stated.
WHEREAS
1. The BUOYE OMUSO (BROWN) MAJOR HOUSE
has entered into a lease agreement dated the
20th day of December, 2001 with Mobil
Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPNU) in
respect of which they receive compensation.
2. The Buoye Omuso (Brown) Major House has also
agreed as a goodwill gesture to extend part of
the benefits of the compensation money to the
Tobin and Attoni houses.
3. The solicitors representing the houses in
question held several meetings to facilitate
peace within and amongst them.
NOW ALL THE PARTIES HEREBY AGREES
as follows:

That all dealings relating to the land in
Finima Community shall be done through and
under the auspices of the BUOYE (BROWN)
MAJOR HOUSE.

The Buoye Omuso (Brown) Major House upon
receiving any compensation would in the
spirit of good neighbourliness extend
thereof to the Tobin and Attoni Houses
provided always that a substintial part
shall be devoted to development projects.
-
That each of the Tobin and Attoni Houses
shall receive such sums of monay as shall be
appropriated by the Brown Major House for
further distribution among all members of
their respective Houses.
-
That both the Tobin and Attoni Houses agree
to participate in the Peace process
initiated by the Buoye Omuso (brown) Major
House to find lasting peace in Finima.
-
All parties recognize the title trasfer to
Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited by the
Brown Major House and agree as a joint body
to defend any action arising therefrom.
-
To set up a settlement procedure, which will
involve informing their respective lawyers
of any potential areas of conflict as,
indeed had been done in this particular
case, to enable quick intervention.
-
That any development Council that may be set
up to further the interest of Finima shall
be done by the Chief of the Brown House who
shall accordingly inform the Attoni and
Tobin Houses but such that the official
voice of Finima shall be the Chief of Buoye
Omuso (Brown) House or anyone so nominated
by him.

That all parties agree to exercise restrain
and not to issue pres statements either in
the print or electronic media or any other
Medium that will be offensive to one
another.
-
That a peace Council shall be set up which
shall include proportional representative of
all 3(three) Houses to create an atmosphere
for lasting peace in Finima so as to enable
its citizens utilize the full benefits of
all the development in and around Finima
Community.
-
That the Law and Order restored in Finima
shall be robustly defended and sustained by
all the parties to this agreement.
PURSUANT TO THIS MEMORANDUM IT IS HEREBY
UNDERSTOOD
that
-
It is also understood and agreed that all
matters in COurt by the Paties to this
Memorandum of Understanding, either
individually or in a representative capacity
shall be discontinued or withdrawn in
furtherance of averall peace in Finima
IN WITNESS WHEREOF
we hereby st our hands and seals this 20th
